Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year at Flowers HQ. We plan and organise the day well in advance to try to minimise hiccups and to ensure we successfully bring lovers together on the big day. It’s not easy, as we do about 20 times more orders than normal on the 14th February but we do our best to make sure everything is just right.
So, Ladies & Gentlemen, we now proudly present a behind the scenes photoblog of our Valentine’s, featuring Arena’s team of flower fanatics!
Georgi, normally in charge of purchasing and margins, gets busy with balloons. My normal job is internet marketing but I spent Valentine’s checking postcodes and loading vans!

A fraudulent flower order causes concern. In the foreground are Zach and Henry, the technical whizzkids who built our entire site and order management system from scratch. Very brainy indeed.
“Valentine’s The One” – white tulips with a single red rose, is our most popular Valentine’s product.
Depending on the destination, our orders either go out in our super sturdy, recycled boxes or are hand delivered by one of our own drivers. Whichever way they’re delivered, they all come with our 100% satisfaction guarantee.
The “Valentine’s Red Roses Cube” (on the left) was the first product to sell out this year.
Manisha and Ruth, two of the first CS team members when Arena first started, came back to work Valentine’s week. Always great to see old friends again.
Our “Valentine’s Tulips Sensation” also sold out – maybe it’s because for everyone sold, we donated £1 to the British Heart Foundation’s Valentine’s Appeal.
Ella in the early stages of crafting a “Valentine’s Mass of Red Roses”.
Now that’s a smile, Rahel!
We hope all our readers had a great Valentine’s – we’re all going for a rest before Mother’s Day kicks in (it’s in only two weeks time, in the UK)!
